On the counter or online store, they might look similar. However, you often find that two different snacks have the same taste and look similar in packaging.Ī typical example is the two famous Chester Hot Fries and Hot Cheetos snacks. Snacks come in unique packages, designs, tastes, and prices. Wal-Mart carries them currently.Last updated on October 26th, 2022 at 05:19 pm They have a very light kick too but not as much as Hot Fries. There's no cheese at all but that specific tomato-y umami is there. I've been thinkin about Hot Fries lately cuz Sensible Portions Veggie Sticks came out with a new BBQ flavor that tastes eerily like classic Hot Fries, and I mean REALLY close. Tasted like burnt cheese! Awful! They're not so bad any more cuz the recipe got tweaked again but it's still not the same. At one point years after the recipe changed again and they became impossible for me to eat, a complete far cry. Last I remember they stopped using tomato paste and opted for tomato powder instead so that's probably one of the things that did it. After the change it's like they're completely missing something. I distinctly remember they were more tomato-y and cheesy. These were my favorite growing up but ConAgra changed the recipe around 2004 or so. TL DR: Why aren't Andy Capp's Hot Fries spicy? Maybe I'm just used to eating spicy foods? I really don't know what's going on. Maybe I got a bad batch but I just figured that something with the word "Hot" in the name would have some kind of spice to it. So my question is for Andy Capp's Hot Fries eaters: Were they ever spicy? Are they supposed to be spicy? What's the deal? They're called hot fries for a reason, right? I thought I grabbed the wrong bag for a second but it was definitely the right one. There was no spice at all and I was genuinely confused. They didn't taste bad, I quite enjoyed the flavor and texture of the chips. They just tasted like Funyuns but in the shape of fries. The other day I finally decided to try the Andy Capp's Hot Fries and if I'm being honest I was pretty disappointed. So I love Chester's Flamin Hot Fries and I always see both Chester's Flamin Hot Fries and Andy Capp's Hot Fries at my local Stripes (7/11 Convenience Store) but always just got the Chester's Flamin Hot Fries.
